Wastewater plants play a vital role in treating millions of gallons of water every day. These facilities require reliable, oil-free pumps that can deliver clean air bubbles to achieve maximum degradation. Becker Pumps offers several regenerative blowers and compressor solutions for your wastewater treatment processes. Whether you have a Conventional Activated Sludge System (CAS) or an Aerated Stabilization Basin (ABS), Becker has the right pump for your facility.
Depending on the application, there are many commonly used types of wastewater pumps including:
Centrifugal pumps — They use centrifugal force that creates enough velocity to displace the water through the system.
Positive displacement pumps — These types of pumps use impellers, rollers, and gears as they displace fluid. They’re ideal pumping solutions for liquids and slurries that contain a lot of solid particles.
High-pressure pumps — These pumps use an axial piston principle to move liquid and can be fixed displacement or variable delivery.
Other Pumps — There are many other types of pumps that are used in wastewater treatment facilities, such as:
Rotary vane pumps use a positive-displacement pumping principle. The rotor is eccentrically mounted in a cylindrical stator or housing.
The blades are inside the rotor and use centrifugal force to move in and out while following the surface of the housing. Our oil-less rotary vane pumps provide cool, quiet operation coupled with long vane life. In addition to the 100% oil-less operation, they feature:
Our regenerative blowers use non-positive displacement to move air. Some air is allowed to move forward by passing over one blade and then onto another. This process differs from positive displacement – which traps air and then forces it to move onward. Regen pumps have a relatively simple design that uses only the enclosed space and air that flows into and out of the blower. An engine or motor provides power to the blades and allows them to rotate. Conversely, pressure pumps use low-pressure, oil-less, dry compressors to move air.
Some of our pumps can operate continuously up to 25 PSIG and offer 2.8 CFM to 353 CFM. We also include pressure regulating valves and filters standard on all our pumps.
The Becker BCV Series claw vacuum pumps are ideal for water treatment plants where low maintenance and totally oil-free compression are required. They operate as an air-cooled unit — which means it requires zero water or oil in the compression chamber. BCV claw compressors utilize the rotary claw operation principle, which increases their efficiency (CFM per Horsepower) when compared to a conventional oil-free vacuum pump. This helps reduce energy costs, and due to no waering parts, provides near maintanance-free operation.
