7 things you might not know
about Becker

Whether you’ve heard of Becker or not, you’ve no doubt benefited from our technology at some point in your life. That’s because our products are used in everything from food manufacturing to woodworking to 3D printing. But although we play such a huge role in so many industries, we’re often a bit shy when it comes to talking about ourselves. So we thought it was time you got to know us a bit better, starting with 7 things you might not know about us...

1. Founded in 1885 and still family-owned

Yes, that’s right – Becker was founded in 1885 and has been family owned for four generations. That’s pretty impressive considering how much has changed in that time. And of course, it means we know a thing or two about innovation and technology.

2. Global sales and services network

Our headquarters are based in Germany, but our company is global. We have sales, distribution and service hubs across the world, employing around 900 people. You’ll find our UK head office in Hull, but we have service centres around the country and engineers working nationwide.

3. Produce approximately 120,000 devices per year

Compressors, blowers and vacuum pumps are our speciality and given their numerous applications, they’re always in high demand. Every single one of our devices is manufactured to the highest standards – we think that quality matters.

4. ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certified

We mentioned above that quality matters to us, and it really does. That’s why we’ve worked hard to achieve ISO 9001 certification – the international standard for quality management systems. But we didn’t stop there. By developing environmental solutions, a range of low-emission

products and utilising high-efficiency motors in our product portfolio, we are reducing our carbon footprint. And as proof of our commitment to the environment, we successfully achieved our ISO 14001 certification – the international standard for environmental management systems.

5. Continuous innovation

Our aim is to continue producing the best and most energy-efficient products available on the market. Not only does this align with our environmental goals, it means we continue to provide our clients with the most advanced solutions available. This short video shows just some of the ways we collaborate with our clients to provide innovative technology.

6. Solution-focused

As the video above shows, we are always focused on our customers – we design solutions to fit their needs, rather than simply making a range of generic products. Another example of our solution-focused approach is our U5 series which was designed specifically with the food packing industry in mind. The design has a smooth finish for easy cleaning to reduce the risk of contamination. It’s also designed to reduce machine downtime so clients can keep up with high demand. And of course, it’s energy-efficient to minimise energy usage, which is better for the environment as well as our clients’ bottom line.

7. We provide centralised air systems

If you think we just make standalone pumps, think again. We can install centralised air systems, designed specifically to the needs of your business. Central air systems provide your machines with on-demand vacuum and blast air, which means greater efficiency and increased energy savings. Each pneumatic supply can be equipped with its own frequency converter, allowing the pneumatic requirements of each production machine to be continuously adapted for any operating point.

MAKE IT BECKER.

Our products and systems are used in applications across almost every sector and in businesses of all sizes. You might not even realise that your machines have Becker pumps inside – and if they don’t, then they should. Because our solutions are made to be more efficient and higher quality than anything else on the market.
